Stuart Phillips is a graduate of the University of Houston and is a CPA licensed to practice public accounting in the state of Texas. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Texas Society of CPAs and East Texas Local Chapter of CPAs. Upon graduation, Stuart joined the corporate tax department of Marathon Manufacturing Company. He spent over five years there before accepting a position with Goodwood Oil Corporation as Controller and Tax Manager. When the oil business went south in the late 80s, he joined the tax section of KPMG Peat Marwick where he assisted in the formation of a state and local tax practice. While at KPMG, he opted to take a Tax position with a client, which was ultimately purchased by Fisher Scientific. After 8 years with Fisher and the predecessor company, Stuart leaped at an opportunity to get out of Houston and moved to Fairfield, where he is now the President of STUART D. PHILLIPS, P.C. Stuart is married to Cindy and has 2 stepsons, Dustin and Jarrod McCarver. He enjoys weightlifting
Rachel Hernandez has an A.S. in Business from Navarro College and has over 15 years experience in Bookkeeping and Tax Preparation. She is a Member of the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers and has serves her Community with the Board of Adjustments Committee for the City of Mexia and has been a Mexia ISD School Board Member since 2011

Rachel is married to Jorge and has three children, Jorge II, Izaac, and Kalila.
John Burleson is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice public accounting in the state of Texas. He has experience in varying industries from public accounting to banking as well as institutional accounting. He graduated from The University of Texas at Tyler with his Master’s of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a focus in accounting and graduated Summa Cum Laude. He also received the TSCPA Accounting Excellence Award which is an honor bestowed on one accounting senior from each graduating class. He is a member of the Texas Society of CPAs, East Texas Local Chapter of CPAs, and is an affiliate member of the American Institute of CPAs. He grew up in the Teague area and wishes to use his accounting skills to serve his home, the tri-county area.
Cyndi Phillips has been a resident of Texas all her life. After graduating high school and two years of college, she worked in the private sector for several years before joining forces with the Pasadena Independent School District. She was with P.I.S.D. for 10 years before marrying Stuart Phillips and moving to Spring, Texas, where she hired on with the Spring Independent School District and spent 8 years at Spring High School. Cyndi completed the 1999 school year and then followed her husband, Stuart, to Fairfield, where her parents, Doyle and Jeanie Seale had been living since 1983. In November of 1999, she took a job with Ann Gokey, P.C. and has been with her since, working as a legal assistant until retirement and now, part-time, as personal assistant. Cyndi has also been instrumental in helping with the animal rescue for Freestone County in holding the position of president for New Leash On Life Animal Rescue for 2 years. She joined her husband’s firm in February 2014 on a daily part-time basis as receptionist and data-entry assistant. Cyndi has 2 sons, Dustin McCarver, wife Mandy and granddaughter Ava and Jarrod McCarver, wife, Cindy and granddaughter Lola. Another granddaughter is due in November to Dustin and Mandy. She enjoys spending time with all her “fur-babies”, reading, and traveling.
Terry Lancaster graduated from the University of Texas at Tyler with her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. She moved to Streetman shortly after graduation; but grew up in the Fairfield area. She has been with the office of Stuart D. Phillips, P.C. since February 2014 and is an affiliate member of the AICPA. She is married to Mark Lancaster. Terry loves the culinary arts and remodels her home.
